Fordays is a place to keep plans, bucket lists and memories, on your own or with the people you plan with. This page says what Fordays keeps, why, who can see it, and how to remove it.

Fordays is made by Mayowa Adegbola, who is responsible for your information. Questions: hello@fordays.app.

The short version

What you give us

Your account

Your name and email address. Your password is stored only as a secure hash; we never see it.

Your Orbs and what’s in them

An Orb is a shared notebook. What you add to it is stored so the people in it can see it: plans and their days and times, bucket list ideas, memories, notes, places, covers and photos, answers to “Are you in?”, alerts you set on plans, and a short history of changes (for example, “Kofi moved this to Friday”). We also keep who is in each Orb, and who is its admin.

Your own Orb (named after you) is only ever seen by you.

Links you share

When you share a plan, Fordays makes a link for it. The link shows nothing about the plan to anyone who opens it. Someone not in the Orb can ask to join, and the Orb’s admin sees their name and which plan brought them, then decides whether to let them in. Links and requests stop working once the plan’s day has passed.

What we collect automatically

Like any website or app, our servers receive basic technical information when you use Fordays: your IP address, device and browser type, and the time of each request. We use it only to keep Fordays working and secure, and we keep it for a short time. Fordays stores a few things on your device (such as which Orb you had open) so it opens quickly. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t use analytics that follow you around the web.

Your calendars

Connecting a calendar is optional. If you do, Fordays uses it for three things, and only for you: to show your events in your own Orb, to remind you of them, and to tell you privately what you already have on a day when you make a plan.

Google Calendar and Outlook

When you connect Google Calendar or Outlook, you sign in with Google or Microsoft and allow Fordays to read your calendars. Fordays cannot create, change or delete anything in your calendar.

Apple Calendar (iPhone)

On iPhone, Fordays asks for permission to read your calendars. The calendars you tick are copied to your account in the same way (title, place, times, calendar name), are seen only by you, and are deleted when you turn Apple Calendar off in Fordays.

Google API data

Fordays’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we use Google Calendar data only to provide the features described above, we don’t use it for advertising, we don’t sell it or give it to anyone else, and we don’t use it to train AI models. No one at Fordays reads your calendar events, unless you ask us to (for example, when you write to us for help), it’s needed to keep Fordays secure, or the law requires it.

Notifications

If you turn notifications on, we keep your device’s notification address, your time zone, and your notification settings, so a reminder or a morning summary arrives at the right time on the right device.

How we use your information

Only to run Fordays for you: to store and show your plans, keep your Orbs in sync, send the reminders and notifications you’ve asked for, keep Fordays secure, answer you when you write to us, and meet our legal obligations. We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to train AI.

Who we share it with

The people in your Orbs. What you add to an Orb is seen by the people in it. That’s what an Orb is for.

Service providers. We use a small number of trusted providers for hosting and storage, sign-in, delivering notifications, and searching for GIFs and places. They handle your information only on our behalf, only what they need, and only to provide their service to us.

When the law requires it. We may disclose information if we must by law, or to protect the safety and rights of people who use Fordays. Where we’re allowed to, we’ll tell you first.

If Fordays changes hands. If Fordays is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it, still under this policy, and we’d tell you before that happens.

We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.

Who can see your data

Inside Fordays, only you and the people in the Orbs you share. Only the people who run Fordays can access our systems, and only when it’s needed to keep Fordays working and secure, to help you when you ask, or when the law requires it.

Where it’s stored

Your information is stored in the United States. If you use Fordays from elsewhere, it is sent there, and we protect it the same way wherever you are.

Keeping it safe

Your information is encrypted on its way to us and while it’s stored, and each person can reach only their own data and the Orbs they’re in. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect yours, and we’ll tell you promptly if something ever goes wrong that affects you.

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. Deleted plans and ideas are removed. When you leave an Orb, the others keep their notebook, including the plans and ideas you added, shown as yours with “(left)” after your name; a plan you were organising passes to the first person who said they’re in. You keep a copy of what was there when you left. Calendar events are replaced on every refresh and removed when you turn a calendar off.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

Write to hello@fordays.app from the address you signed up with, and we’ll answer within 30 days. We won’t treat you differently for asking. If you’re in the EU or UK and aren’t happy with our answer, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Deleting your account

In Fordays, go to Settings → your name → Delete account. Your account is deleted straight away, with: your own Orb and everything in it, your photos, your answers, your calendars (and Fordays’ access to them), your notification settings, and anything you added to a shared Orb that nobody else is part of. You leave every Orb you’re in; the others keep theirs.

What stays with the others. As in a group chat, a plan or idea you added that other people are part of stays with them, because it’s theirs too: a plan everyone in the Orb shares, a plan someone said they’re in for, or an idea someone else said “Me too” to. Your name is removed from it (it shows as “Someone who left”), and a plan you were organising passes to the first person who said they’re in. Memories keep the photos other people added, not yours.

You can also email hello@fordays.app from the address you signed up with, and we’ll do it for you within 30 days.

Links to other services

Some things in Fordays open other services, such as a map for a plan’s place, or Google or Microsoft when you connect a calendar. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Children

Fordays isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top.
